为使喷油器喷入缸内的柴油能够及时地完全燃烧，必须定期检查油泵的供油时间。供油时间过早，车辆会出现起动困难和敲缸的故障；供油时间过迟，会导致排气冒黑烟，机温过高，油耗上升。   喷油器针阀偶件的配合精度，并且喷孔孔径很小，因而必须严格按照季节变化选用规定牌号的清洁柴油，否则喷油器就不能正常工作。   清洗喷油器针阀偶件时不得与其它硬物相撞，也不可使其跌落在地，以免碰伤擦伤。更换喷油器针阀偶件时，应先将新偶件放入80℃的热柴油中浸泡10 s左右，让防锈油充分溶化后，再在干净柴油将针阀在阀体内来回抽动，洗净，这样才能避免喷油器工作时因防锈油溶化而发生粘住针阀的故障。

  对于现在汽车电控燃油喷射系统使用的喷油器而言，常见的故障包括机械故暂和电路故障。机械故障包括喷油器阀芯卡滞、喷油器阻塞及泄露，当喷油器出现上述故障后，会引起机械动作失效，从而影响发动机的正常运转，有时甚至会使发动机出现故障。

  1. 喷油器针阀卡滞

  喷油器的工作是由发动机控制单元发出信号，喷油器的电磁线圈通电后产生吸力从而驱动喷油器针阀动作。由于针阀与阀座的间隙被残存的粘胶物阻塞，致使针阀动作发涩不能正常打开，从而影响正常的喷油量。喷油器发生针阀卡滞故障后，发动机会出现启动、怠速、加速等。产生喷油器卡滞的主要原因是使用了劣质汽油，因为劣质汽油中的石蜡和胶质，从而导致喷油器针阀卡滞。

  2.喷油器阻塞

  喷油器阻塞故障可分为喷油器内部阻塞和喷油器头部外部阻塞。喷油器内部阻塞产生的原因多是汽油中混入杂质和污物阻塞喷油器内部针阀的运动间隙，使喷油器机械动作异常。当喷油器发生堵塞故障后，发动机会相应出现启动困难、怠速不稳、加速等症状，情况时甚至会造成发动机，并引发相关机械原件异常磨损情况的发生。
