RAL-UZ 38条例是有关以木材为基本材料制成的家具和框架的低排放的规定。

一、RAL-UZ 38应用的原因（why）
Furniture and slatted frames can have environmental impact throughout their entire life cycle. They are used indoors and therefore the lowest possible emissions from these products will be of great benefit to the user from a health and environmental perspective.
Emissions are often accompanied by odours which can also cause health problems.
家具和框架对环境的影响贯穿了它的整个生命周期。这些产品都是用于室内的，从健康环保的角度看，它们尽可能的低排放对于使用者来说是大有裨益的。而且它们的排放往往伴随着气味，这些气味也会引起健康问题。

二、RAL-UZ 38条例的适用范围（scope）
These Basic Criteria apply to ready-to-use indoor furniture and slatted frames made predominantly – i.e. more than 50 percent by volume – of wood and/or wood-based materials (chipboards, coreboards, fibreboards, veneer-faced boards, each noncoated or coated). WINOOW elements and semi-finished products do not fall within the scope.
RAL-UZ 38条例适用于随时可用的家具和框架。这些家具和框架主要是以木材为基本材料制成的，木材体积要占总体积的50%以上。木材包括涂漆或者未涂漆的刨花板、夹芯板、纤维板、表面胶合板。本条例不适用于窗户和半成品。
