ATP合成酶(ATP  synthase)广泛分布于线粒体内膜，叶绿体类囊体，异养菌和光合菌的质膜上，参与氧化磷酸化和光合磷酸化，在跨膜质子动力势的推动下合成ATP。由突出于膜外的F1亲水头部和嵌入膜内的Fo疏水尾部组成。其中F1单元是球状结构，由3α,3β,1γ,1δ和1ε等9个亚基组成，其中β亚基是催化合成ATP的主要功能部位，且研究表明ATP合成酶β亚基是极度保守的蛋白，从细菌到高等动物中的序列相似性很高。
Agrisera针对ATP合成酶β亚基的保守序列设计了独特的抗原（KLH-conjugated  synthetic  peptide  derived  from  available  plant,  algal  (chloroplastic  and  mitochondrial)  and  bacterial  sequences  of  beta  subunits  of  F-type  ATP  synthases,  including  Arabidopsis  thalianachloroplastic  ATP  synthase  subunit  beta  UniProt:  P19366,  TAIR:  AtCg00480    and  Arabidopsis  thalianamitochondrial  ATP  synthase  subunit  beta-1,  UniProt:  P83483,  TAIR:  At5g08670  as  well  as  Chlamydomonas  reinhardtii,    UniProt:  P06541  and  A8IQU3；），研发了能广泛检测物种的Atp合成酶β亚基（AtpB）抗体。
