当TS三维触发式测头的探针接触到工件表面时它将偏离其自由位置。偏离自由位置时立即通过电缆（TS  220/TS  230型）或红外线（TS  640/TS  440型）向数控系统发送信号。数控系统立即将机床轴光栅尺所测的实际位置信息保存下来，用于进一步处理。
