焊缝金属中化学元素分布不均匀的现象，称为偏析。焊缝中的偏析将影响焊缝的各项性能，严重偏析时将 与焊缝裂纹有密切关系。因溶质浓度不同色区域，对浸蚀剂的反应不同，浸蚀颜色就不同。溶质浓度较高的区域颜色较 深，有溶质浓度的降低区域颜色逐渐变淡。这种偏析称为层状偏析。
The phenomenon of uneven distribution of chemical elements in weld metal is called segregation. Segregation in the weld will affect the performance of the weld, and severe segregation will be closely related to the weld crack. Because of the different color areas of the solute concentration and the different reaction to the etchant, the etching color is different. The area with higher solute concentration has a deeper color and a decrease in solute concentration. This segregation is called stratified segregation.
层状偏析对焊缝质量的影响目前研究的也 不够充分。现已发现，层状偏析不仅可使焊缝金属的力学性能不均匀，有时还会沿层状线产生气孔或裂纹等缺 陷。

显微偏析根据金属学的知识，合金的凝固过程是在一定温度范围内进行。而在连续冷却的过程中，先后 凝固的合金成分不同。先从液相中析出的固相中溶质含量较低，后析出的固相则溶质含量较高。
